Ghana National Flag : Red, Gold, Green and a black star
The Ghanaian flag was designed by Mrs Theodosia Okoh when Ghana became independent in 1957. The colours were adapted from the Pan-African colours of Ethiopia. They are red, gold and green with a black five-pointed star at the centre of the gold stripe. The Meaning of the Ghana National Flag Red : The blood of those who shed their blood for the country's struggle for independence. Yellow: Yellow represents the rich mineral resources of Ghana. Gold is one of Ghana's major exports. Ghana used to be called Gold Coast. Green : The rich forest and vegetation of Ghana. Black Star : Represent the lodestar of African freedom. Useful Links
