1928 - 24TH JUNE 2009

"Evening is the delight of virtuous age, it seems an emblem of the tranquil close of a busy life - serene, placid and mild with the impress of the Great Creator stamped upon it; it spreads its quite wings over the grave; and seems to promise that all shall be peace beyond it "- Bulwer

TRIBUTE FROM GRANDCHILDREN

On that happy Easter morning, all the graves their dead restore, Father, sister, child and mother; meet once more A&M 499 v 7

Grandpa, when we heard about your sudden death we wept uncontrollably.  We will never understand how or why the Lord has taken you at this time.  We will miss you more than words can express. Grandpa, you always had sweet for us or gave us money to buy sweets when we came home from school.

You told us many stories and taught us many songs.  I remember the story you told me about the origin of the name of our local gin "Akpeteshi".  You told me how people used to hide to drink this local gin "Akpeteshi" for the fear of being caught and punished during the Colonial days.  Hence the name "Akpeteshi".  Mi Kpeteshi" meaning "I'm hiding to drink".  Your favourite song was "The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want".  I am in the school choir because I started singing with you when I was a child.  You helped us with our homework and we are what we are today because of you.

Mum said you have gone to heaven to be with the Lord.  Grandpa we miss you so much.  You have been an inspiration to all of us, and taught us never to let any obstacle get in our way.  you demonstrated this daily with your life.  You did your morning exercise right to the very end.  We love and appreciate you so much.  It unfortunate that you have left us this time.

Grandpa though we love you, God loves you best therefore we know that you are resting safely in the arms of our Lord and we take consolidation in that.  Grandpa, go in peace to your eternal resting place.  We will miss you but will never forget you.

DAMIRIFA DUE!
